yoga day 6 saturday "Mind vs. Body"

Today was hard for me. I went to spinning first at ponte vedra and then went straight from there into yoga. My spinning teacher worked us hard, and her music was good, i felt great while spinning, but not so great when it came to yoga. In Mia's yoga class, we had 40 people!!! Insane since the group exercise room is small. We all crammed in there and our neighbors were so close. It didn't bother me, but the room got so hot and I was sweating alot (not a bad thing either). Mia teaches ashtanga style of power yoga and after doing some modified sun a salutations, full sun salutations a, full sun salutations all straight, I felt beat. We continued through our warriors, standing poses, balancing postures all with another sun salutation/vinyasa in between each one. Some of the vinyasa I had to skip, and come into down dog or childs pose. My ego said "Dont rest, you need to work out". But I gave in to my mind and body and gave myself the opportunity to compose myself a bit. I know it was my mind taking over here, but I was tired (as my yoga teacher mark says "you arent tired, tired has you!") Yes Tired had me. I was glad though that I took those "breaks", because towards the last 20 minutes of class, I was able to do some more vinyasas, and find some joy in my practice. My yoga breathing "breathing in through your nose and out through your nose" was really strong and audible, I have noticed it improving this week. And for the first time this week, I was actually able to rest my mind during savasana, it was one of the best savasanas for me ever. I guess I was more tired than I thought I was.
Tomorrow is easter, and I am not sure if I am going to be able to make it to the gym for yoga at 4pm, since I have family coming over to my parents house for lunch and a beach day, but at the very least I will do some yoga on my wii or perhaps one of my yoga works dvds, or maybe some sun salutations out by the beach in the morning.
It's amazing, it's only been 6 days, but I already see a major difference in my body and mind. I am less cranky, and my it band doesnt hurt after I do yoga.
